About me

I studied Electronic & Electrical Engineering at Birmingham University and then spent 10 years travelling the world with oilfield services giant Schlumberger (now known as SLB).

With the emergence of the internet and websites back in the 1990s, I studied HTML coding at Worcester Tech – creating the predecessors of the websites we see today. This set me off on the long road of building my knowledge about all ‘things internet’.

Unusually for an engineer, I am artistic too, which means I have a broad appreciation of the human side of websites – what looks good, what works, how to get your message across , and so on.

My strength lies in getting the ‘big picture’. There are plenty of suppliers out there who know the nuts and bolts of the IT world but struggle to relate to you, the customer and your vision. I can help bridge that gap.

No job is too small …

Having over 30 years’ experience in running my own businesses, I have a broad knowledge of a lot of stuff. I don’t profess to being an expert in everything, but I do know who to speak to when I don’t. I am happy to advise on almost anything – technical or not – so please do get in touch if you think I can help. It’s what I enjoy doing, so it’s never a chore!

Charges

Initial meetings are always free of charge so I can find out the size of the task ahead. Many charges (e.g. domain names, software licences etc) are fixed costs; others (e.g. my time) are fairly fluid. I will always give you an estimate or quote in advance. I provide my services mainly for my enjoyment, so my rates are very reasonable. Really!
